Diabetes mellitus
Prevalence of diabetes mellitus is becoming an increasing public health concern. Members of the
communities are encouraged to visit their PHCs for diabetes screening for early diagnosis.
In addition, the blood sugar level of pregnant women are routinely tested at the health facilities as there
can be cases of gestation induced diabetes mellitus. Where diabetes is detected, it is treated by the
health providers to ensure safe delivery for mother and child.
