Outbreak Monitoring
Disease monitoring is a key component of surveillance. At the Board and LGA levels, a robust structure
have been put in place by the Diseases Control Services department to detect any possible outbreaks of illness in the State. This structure includes the Boards Disease, Surveillance and Notification Officer (DSNO) and LGA DSNOs/ assistant DSNOs.Monitoring for vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs) and notifiable diseases are ongoing in close cooperation with relevant agencies
